what do college baseball coaches look for during tryouts?
i wasnt able to play fopr high shcool cuz oif tendonitis in my elbow next year i wana tryout for the university of akron baseball team for pitcher. what should i work on and is it possible?

arm power so u can throw harder do pushup im a little leauger but i throw near 70 mph

As a pitcher they want to see that you are in shape. That you hustle. That you are busting your tail. Plus they want to see some natural talent, like arm strength and size. That you can throw strikes and get people out. I think Akron is probably a good baseball school so get to working now and don't tell them about your elbow problem.

Well I used to play volleyball back in middle school and i loved it. I kept trying to go for it in highschool but work always got in the way. You can find volleyball clubs almost everywhere in ohio. I play for a club team in Ohio myself so that is how I know that. My club team just got done with our season though. I bet they will have a lot of the teams that need players on the official club team website.

I checked online and found sites that referred people to Mexico, Budapest, etc. If I had that kind of money I could afford dental work. My brother lost his job and was without work for a few weeks, now he has a job that pays less than his previous. He is behind for Oct and Nov rent adn they are evicting him and his 2 boys (ages 4,7) but yet he is still responsible for paying the rent until his lease is up in August 07, which will be impossible for him to pay 2 rents when he finds another place. Do you know of any organizaiton that would help him get caught up in Akron, OH?? Thanks

The first place to start is Ohio's Health and Human Services: http://jfs.ohio.gov/ There's all sorts of financial assistance available to single parents ... including food stamps or rent assistance. Tell him to look in the phone book under "State of Ohio" ... some states even have emergency programs for cases like his where someone is getting evicted.

http://www.akronhousing.org/ - All I know of is is the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, which you would have to apply for and meet certain income requirements.

The Salvation Army is a good place to find help for families. I know they do a lot of good in our area in cases just like you describe. If he is already behind on his rent, recommending that he apply for Section 8 (a federal rent subsidy program), or any other governmental agency, is not going to do much good. The public programs require paperwork and qualification time, etc. There are various private charitable organizations scattered throughout various communities all across the country. Try looking in the blue pages of your local phone book. That is where they list all sorts of social service agencies in our area.

you might want to have him get hold of the kiwanis or some other group like that....i used to live in akron and was a member of the kiwanis (sp?) and i know we helped people that were having trouble....that was about 17 years ago so i am not positive if they still do or not though!! your brother and his kids will be in my prayers tonight!!!

Go to the parish office of a nearby Catholic church. You don't have to be Catholic, or even religious. If they have the money, they will help him--that's why they exist; to help people in need. If they can't give him a check for his rent, they will give suggestions of other places to try. He should bring in paperwork showing the amount(s) he owes or the amounts he is past due with his eviction notice. The Salvation army is a good resource as well. My mom has received help from both places for mortgage and utilities in the past. Ignore the guy who says "2nd job..." When you have 2 kids, it's pretty impossible to find adequate child care that's affordable---even harder if you have to be gone from the house 16 hours a day for work. Good luck to him and the boys.

Going to law school part time is rough man. It'll take forever to finish and it will definitely be tough to be at the top of the class. Why don't you consider pulling loans and going full time and just get it over with. If that's not an option, just go with the one that gives you the most $.
